The reason of storing any information in our organisation is to make it easier to find when required and information retrieval is to provide quality service for the right person at the right time, with all the required information in hand respectively.
Storage and retrieval of data plays a major role in improving the performance of our organisation and this can happen either offline or online in various formats according to the organisation procedure. In my department files have to be stored following all the confidentiality procedures and protected according to data protection act for quality service and the smooth running of our organisation. For example at the children centre we have system and procedure that we use on a daily basis called connect +, which is a database that is used to store service user’s information. Another system would be EHM which is to store case information of our service users.
